Białowieża National Park is located in the northeast of Poland on the Belarusian border and is designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This park contains one of the last existing medieval forests in Europe and is also home to the largest population of European Bison in the world. This park is was established in 1932 and is the oldest national park in Poland.

Tatra National Park is home to Poland’s highest mountain peaks as well as many native animals including the Tatra chamois, marmot, grey wolf and lynx. This park surrounds the mountain town of Zakopane which is known for its world class hiking and skiing as well as traditional highlander culture.

Here you can immerse yourself in traditional culture by stepping inside wooden cottages and tasting the region’s traditional foods such as oscypek (smoked cheese made from salted sheep milk).

Słowiński National Park is located on the Baltic coastline. This park is known for having the largest stretch of moving sand dunes in Europe. Słowiński also contains many peat bogs and swamps, which are the home for many bird species including cranes, herons, ospreys and the white tailed eagle.

The entire park is part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO. (Biosphere Reserves are learning places for sustainable development’ where testing is conducted to better understand the interactions between social and ecological systems.
