What to bring back from Poland?

1. Polish Pottery

In southwest Poland, there is a town called Boleslawiec, that is well known for their long history of making traditional pottery. Better known as “Polish Pottery,” you can find these quintessential and recognizable pieces all over the world.

You may be able to find the pottery from an importer in the United States, but at an extremely high price. In Poland, these pieces are extremely affordable. The beautifully decorated pottery will brighten up your kitchen. We take our clients to the best Polish Pottery shops and on some of our private tours to Poland, you may have a chance to not only visit Bolesławiec, but try your hand at making your own piece of art!

2. Baltic Amber

It might be hard to believe, but Polish amber dates back more than 40 million years! Often called “Gold of the North,” it is a fantastic gift from Poland. You can find amber workshops in almost every large city in Poland, but it can be confusing where to buy it from and to know which sellers to trust.  We’ve got you covered and will make sure you find reputable and quality amber shops.

On our private tours to Poland we provide opportunities for guests to participate in amber workshops where you can learn about the traditional methods of amber jewelry making.  You can also search for amber on your own on the sandy beaches along the Baltic Sea. We encourage you to have a look!

3. Polish Art

The art scene in Poland has exploded over the last few years. There are amazingly talented artists from all different design backgrounds that we would love to introduce you to! During our December trips, we try to attend Targi Rzeczy Ładnych (Market of Beautiful Things), the largest design show in Poland where you can purchase locally handmade items and meet the artists. We personally love Polish art posters and know some great places where you can find a beautiful piece to display on your wall.

4. Polish Candy

Every time we return to the United States from Poland we return with a large bag of candy, which almost instantly seems to disappear. Some of the delicious choices we recommend are Ptasie Mleczko, Krówki, Kukułki or Michałki. On our private tours to Poland, you will have a chance to taste them all before making the decision on which ones (and how much!) to bring home with you. We even offer fantastic gingerbread tours in Toruń. We like our guests to be happy, not hangry. If you have a sweet tooth, Poland might be your paradise!

5. Vodka

Vodka is the national spirit of Poland and a great souvenir to share with your family and friends while telling them your incredible stories from Poland. We can teach you how to drink like a Pole, how to make a toast and what is worth trying (and what to avoid!). On our tours to Poland we like to take clients to the Vodka Museum in Warsaw where you can learn about the history of this drink and have a tasting too. There are some famous Polish Vodka brands worldwide such as Żubrówka (Bison Grass Vodka). If you are weary of the taste of clear alcohol, we recommend you try a flavored Vodka like Soplica, which is especially excellent for cold days.
