
We believe that when it comes to international travel, it’s best to keep it as simple as possible. At this moment, there are a few easy possibilities to visit Poland from the US. There are direct flights starting in New York City (JFK), Newark, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Most of these flights will take you directly into Warsaw, the capital of Poland, but a few of them go directly to Krakow or even Rzeszow. Polish airlines are planning to expand their flight offers over the next few years to make it easier for both Polish and American travelers.

Which airlines fly to Poland?
Most of the direct flights to Poland that we mentioned are operated by LOT Polish Airlines. LOT Airlines is the main airline in Poland and offers flights to 134 destinations around the world. The airline was established 90 years ago in 1928, which makes it one of the oldest airlines still in operation. Their fleet is modern, high-quality and safe. LOT is part of the frequent flyer program, Miles & More, and is a member of Star Alliance.

American Airlines also operates a flight between the United States and Poland. American Airlines offers seasonal, but direct flights between Chicago and beautiful Krakow. They will fly 5 times a week in the summer season using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

How long is the flight to Poland?
It all depends on where you start. The direct flight from Chicago to Warsaw takes about 9-10 hours. If you fly from the West Coast you will need to plan to travel for about 11 to 12 hours one way. Believe us, it’s worth it!

How much does it cost to fly to Poland?
The prices will vary depending on the season and the airport, but the average cost of an economy ticket for a direct flight is between $400 and $600 one way. Depending on which class you travel in, your flight may allow you to take one or two pieces of luggage up to 23kg (50 lbs) and one piece of hand luggage weighing 8kg (17 lbs). According to the LOT Airlines website:
"During long-haul flights, on every route in the LOT Economy Class, we serve our Passengers two meals - the first, just after the start, the second - before landing. During the whole flight you also get free drinks: coffee, tea, water and fruit juices, as well as white and red wine and beer. Also you can use our paid LOT Sky Bar menu at any time.”
