A Peek Into Poland

Accompanied by a local guide, we will visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum, an interesting place where you will learn about Warsaw’s role in WWII.  We will eat lunch at Hala Koszyki, a modern and energetic collective eatery.

In the afternoon, we will dive deeper into Warsaw with private walking tour that will take us to sites you won’t commonly find in guidebooks. We will end the day with a stop at the world’s first Vodka Museum to learn about and taste the national drink of Poland.

Today we make our way south to the city of Kraków. One stop along the way is to the village of Zalipie, known for its remarkable folk art decorations. Here, we will participate in a workshop with local artists to create our own folk-style art piece.

In the afternoon, we dive underground into the Wieliczka Salt Mine. This is a historic mine deep underground that boasts almost 200 miles of tunnels. There are many incredible things carved into the stone here, including an enormous underground cathedral. Wieliczka is a must see.

After our visit, it's only a short transfer to our quiet and boutique accommodation near the market square. From the hotel, you can easily walk through the charming streets of Kraków’s Old Town.

In the morning we will see some of the lesser known sights of Kraków with a local guide. We will enter into the underground of the Kraków Market Square, which hides over 1000 years of history. You can observe the ancient market stalls that once stood in the city center and see artifacts that were buried in time.

There will be time to wander around the charming streets of Kazimierz, step into local boutiques, talk with artists and learn more about the history of the area including Wawel Castle.

In the afternoon its time to roll up our sleeves - we’re starting a pierogi making class! Pierogi are a fantastic addition to any dinner table. In the class, we will work with talented, cheerful English speaking cooks and will use fresh local ingredients. We will also bake braided Challah bread and taste some other local delicacies.

Zakopane is a picturesque mountain paradise for hiking, winter sports and mountain lovers of all kinds. We begin with a walk down the local promenade, Krupówki, filled with local shops and cafes.

At the Oscypek Museum, we will have the opportunity to learn the technique of making Podhale cheese and form an oscypek ourselves. Our accommodation for the night is planned in a traditional cottage hosted by Polish Highlanders. Incredible mountain views, a wood burning fire and local delicacies - this is how we visit Zakopane.

Today, we will take a cable car to the peak of Kasprowy Wierch. From a height of more than 6,500 feet, we can see the breathtaking panoramic view over neighboring peaks and valleys. We can even see into Slovakia since this is where the border joins the two countries.

For lunch, we will descend the peak to feast at a modern restaurant loved by locals, STRH Bistro. On the way to Oświęcim, we will stop at the hometown of Pope John Paul II, Wadowice, where we will spend the night at a luxurious spa hotel.

With a local expert, we will visit the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. This site is a monument to the tragic history that took place there during WWII. It is a very emotional and extremely important place.

Today we find ourselves in the Polish Jurassic Highlands, where we will explore the famous castle, Ogrodzieniec, which was featured in the Netflix series The Witcher (2019). This castle is part of the legendary Trail of the Eagle’s Nests, which is a chain of 25 medieval castles between Częstochowa and Kraków.

With a local guide we will explore Łódź, the center of the film and textile industry, and the third largest city in Poland. The city will unveil the times of incredible development, interrupted by the outbreak of World War II, and its modern side that places Łódź among the world capitals of art and murals.

We will walk in a unique place called Romantic Park in Arkadia, an English style garden that took over 40 years to develop. Before we arrive in Warsaw, we will stop at Żelazowa Wola, where the famous pianist Frederic Chopin was born. Our last night will be spent in Warsaw with a farewell dinner to celebrate our incredible adventure together.
