Zakopane is a picturesque mountain paradise for hiking, winter sports and mountain lovers of all kinds. We begin with a walk down the local promenade, Krupowki, filled with local shops and cafes. We will stop for a coffee at Tygodnik Podhalanski that has a perfect view over the Tatras and meet a Zakopane local who can answer all our questions.
Together, we will take a cable car to the peak of Kasprowy Wierch. From a height of more than 6,500 feet, we can see the breathtaking panoramic view over neighboring peaks and valleys. We can even see into Slovakia since this is where the border joins the two countries.
At the Oscypek Museum, we will have the opportunity to learn the technique of making Podhale cheese and form an oscypek ourselves. Our accommodation for the night is planned in a traditional cottage hosted by Polish Highlanders. Incredible mountain views, a wood burning fire and local delicacies - this is how we visit Zakopane.
